About Me

Upon graduating in 2013, he worked with a local NGO before launching a professional career in photography and multimedia content. In 2014, he completed photography training at the French Institute Myanmar; and then by late 2016, he was selected to attend TRT news station’s International Media Training in Antalya, Turkey. In May 2018, he was again selected as delegate to the Diplomacy Journalism Training organised by Anadolu Agency News Academy in Ankara, Turkey.

Aung Khant Sithu joined the media industry in 2015 as a photojournalist for The Myanmar Times. Three years later, he was promoted to Multimedia Producer and Head of Myanmar Times TV, before moving up to Head of Multimedia in early of 2020.

He resigned the job after the Myanmar Military Coup in February 2021 and relocated to Bangkok, Thailand.

After that After that he decided to leave the country and now, he is based in Bangkok, Thailand and working over projects as freelance.

He basically worked on the photo assignments, documentaries and news assignments with international organizations such as EU, Soneva Foundation, ABC Australia, and Kyodo News, etc.

In 2021, Aung Khant Si Thu produced a documentary with EU about the situation of Myanmar and it took place at the EU parliament in Brussels.

Aung Khant Sithu also worked as a freelance photographer and videographer in his decade-long journey for Embassies, NGOs, International Broadcasting Media and some other local and international organisations such as TRT World, CNN, AFP, NRC Media (Netherlands), USAID, WWF, Amnesty International, Community Partners International (CPI), the European Union Delegation, GIZ, Lien AID Myanmar, TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency), SEEDSTARS, and The Green Foundation Asia, etc. He used to work for EU for a long time as a Multimedia Specialist.
